Meat stew
– more like a meat stew to eat with couscous
ingredients
- 2 Large onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- About 1/2 kg of beef (chulent or stew type) cut into cubes – make the conversion to pounds yourself!
- The following Vegetables should all be chopped into large cubes:
- 2 medium-large potatoes
- 2-3 large carrots
- 2-3 zucchinis
- 1-2 sweet potatoes
- Pumpkin (we use a 15x15 cm piece)
- Optional: 1-2 tomatoes
- 1 small can of tomato paste
- 1/2 package of fresh coriander
- 1 tbsp. instant soup mix (chicken flavor)
- Boiling water (a kettleful)
- Paprika, cumin, salt pepper, grill chicken or steak seasoning. I like adding a dash of curry, too (Daniel)
directions
Chop the onions and garlic and fry in large (chulent sized) pot. Add meat and fry until seared. Add all the veggies into the pot. Then fill the pot with water until all veggies are covered. Add the coriander and tomato sauce. Season with all the spices. After water boils, place on low flame and cook until the meat is nice and soft – approx. 2-3 hours.
