Peanut Blossoms

Makes 3 dozen

Mom used to send me these in a care package to college. Packed in popcorn!

ingredients

1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 t. milk
1 t. vanilla
36 candy kisses

directions

Sift flour, soda, and salt. Cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well. Blend in dry ingredients gradually. Mix thoroughly. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll in sugar,. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place a candy kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that the cookie cracks around the edge. Return to oven. Bake 2 to 5 mins. longer.°
