Aunt Marie's Rum Balls
Passed on from Aunt Marie to me on December 18, 1994
ingredients
- 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup dark rum
- 3 Tablespoons light corn syrup
- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafer cookies
- 1 cup ground pecans
- Additional sugar
directions
In saucepan melt chocolate chips over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, rum and corn syrup. Fold in vanilla wafers and nuts. Shape mixture into 1 inch balls using about 2 teaspoons of mixture for each ball. Roll ball in additional sugar. Store in airtight container for a least one day before serving. Makes about 4 dozen.
