pecan bars

Makes 48 bars

ingredients

crust
  • 3 c flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c margarine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
filling
  • 4 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 c dark or light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 c sugar (with lt syrup 1 c brown sugar, 1/2 wh. sugar)
  • 3 T melted margarine
  • 1 1/2 t vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

directions

  • 1

    grease bottoms and sides of 15x10x1 in pan. Prepare crust: Mix until crumbly; press firmly and evenly into pan. bake @ 350 for 20 minutes.

    while crust is baking, prepare filling: in large bowl stir eggs, syrup, sugar, margarine and vanilla until blended; stir in pecans. spread evenly over hot crust.

    bake @ 350 for 25 minutes or until set. Cool on rack.
