Red Devil's Food Cake
ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick butter
- 3 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

2. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well.

3. Add vanilla to milk, alternate buttermilk with flour and other ingredients. Add boiling water.

4. Pour into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

5. For the icing, melt butter and cocoa. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix together and spread on cake.
