Oatmeal cake

- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 stick butter / oleo
- 1 c. oatmeal
- 1 1/4 c. water (hot) Mix water with oats & set aside.
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking powder

Cream sugars / butter & then add oatmeal mixture. When cool enough; add eggs.Add dry ingredients / bake @ 350 for approx. 45 minutes in a 9 x 13 pan.

While baking: take 1 stick butter / 1/4 c. milk / 1/2 to 1 c. brown sugar / 1/2 cup coconut / 1 or 2 cups pecans. Mix and warm up so it will spread easily. When cake is done; pull oven rack out & spread topping over it / put back in oven & let it sizzle...watch carefully.
