Banana Nut Bread
Delicious bread for a snack or breakfast!
ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk or milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 (approx. 1 cup) bananas, very ripe, mashed
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 2 cups plan flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream shortening an sugar together. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in milk, vanilla, and bananas. Add the nuts.

Sift together the flour, salt, and soda. Combine the two mixtures, mixing only until blended.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes for a loaf. Slightly less for small loaves.
