Crab Meltaways
I got this recipe from an old friend, Eileen Carmen back around the time that Andrea was born. I enjoy making this appetizer every year at Thanksgiving!
ingredients
- 2 packages English Muffins (12)
- 1 pound crabmeat
- 2 sticks butter
- 12 oz. Velveeta cheese food
- 4 T mayonnaise
- 1 t Old Bay
- little bit of garlic, garlic powder or garlic salt
- 1/2 t dried mustard
- Paprika

Split muffins in half.

Mix the rest of the ingredients, except for the crabmeat and paprika, in a mixer until blended. Fold in the crabmeat.

Spread some of the mixture on each muffin half, covering the whole surface with the middle being thicker.

Place the prepared muffins on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with Paprika, and freeze for at least 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer, and cut each muffin half into 4 pieces. Put these pieces in ziplock freezer bags and keep frozen until ready to use.

Broil until puffed, bubbly and slightly golden brown.
