Homemade Meatballs

This one takes a bit. Have a friend help in the rolling!
A lot. depends on how small you make the meatballs.

These are delicious!

ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons of minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup of Heinz Chili Sauce
  • 2/3 cup red currant jelly (or use grape in a pinch)

directions

Combine first 8 ingredients in a large bowl. Form into bite size balls. Brown meatballs in oil. Cover. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drain grease. Combine chili and jelly in a bowl. Pour over meatballs. Heat, stir until jelly melts. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until thick. Baste occasionally.
