Dad's Thai Satays with a Spicy Peanut Sauce
ingredients
- 2 pd beef or chicken
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- tsp chili peppers
- 2 tbsp curry
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp garam masala
- splash of teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp teriyaki or soya sauce
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 clove garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Combine oil, brown sugar, chili peppers, curry, cumin, coriander, garam masala and teriyaki sauce. Cut beef into strips and marinate for minimum one hour.

When the meat is finished marinating, weave the strips onto a wooden skewer.

Grill on high heat until the meat is cooked (about 5 min). If using the oven; broil on high heat (about 10 min) and turn the skewers once after five minutes.

For the peanut sauce, combine the last seven ingredients and mix in a saucepan.

Simmer for five minutes, or until sauce has thickened to desired consistency.

If there is time, marinate the meat over night for the fullest flavour.
