Cranberry Scones
ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 TBS baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 TBS sugar
- ! cup dried cranberries
- ! Tbs lemon zest
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 TBS water

Preheat oven 400°

Combine all ingredients from flour to lemon zest.

Cut in butter until mealy

Quickly stir in buttermilk

Turn onto floured board and knead 3 to 5 minutes.

Divide dough into 3 balls.

Make egg wash from egg beaten with water.

Brush wash on balls of dough.

Score each ball into quarters with a knife.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.

Sprinkle with sugar.

Break scones apart at scores and serve.
