Deirdre's Classic Cream Scones
Rich basic scones, easy to add berries, nuts, etc.
ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup butter, chilled, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 425

lightly grease baking sheet

Sift together dry ingredients
- 4
Cut butter into flour mix. Mix together egg, cream, vanilla, add to flour mix. Stir lightly until just combined.Be careful not to over mix.

Press into 2 circles, cut each into quarters. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.
