Gingersnap Cookies
These are some of my favorite cookies. I love making them in the fall. if you want them soft and chewy, eat the same day that you bake them.
ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 2 Tbs. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- additional sugar to roll cookie dough in

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses, mix well. Mix dry ingredients and add to mixture.

Form cookies and roll in sugar. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes.
