Thai Beef Salad W/ Herbs and Spicy Dressing
ingredients
- Grilled med rare beef/steak
- 1 stem lemon grass, tender inner
- part of bottom 3in only, very thinly sliced
- 4 shallots thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp minced cilantro
- 2 Tbsp mint leaves
- 4 Kafir lime leaves, very finely shreeded
- 6-8 lettuce leaves, washed and dried

- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 4 sprigs mint
- Sauce
- 2 cloves garllic, minced
- 2 lg red chilies, sliced
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce

Put beef slices in a bowl and add lemongrass, shallots, corriander, mint and kaffir lime. Toss to mix well.

Prepare the sauce by blending garlic, chilies, sugar in a spice grinder, adding a little lime juice to keep the mixture turning. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the lime juice and fish sauce. Pour the sauce over the beef and herbs and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate for 10 minutes.

Line a serving plate with lettuce leaves, put the beef (room temp) on top and garnish with tomato and cucumber and herbs.
