Texas Sheet Cake
The frosting for this cake is excellent, it is enhanced by the toasted pecans or walnuts
ingredients
- CAKE:
- 2 cups flour, sifted (I use Softasilk Gold Medal cake flour)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup shortening (I use butter flavored Crisco)
- FROSTING:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 small can sego milk
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 packages (16 oz. Size) powdered(A little less- check consistency of frost.)
- 1 cup + toasted chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
