Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
A delicious and nutritious snack or treat. Great for tournaments and after long workouts!
ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
directions
preheat oven to 325F (160C). Lightly grease or butter a loaf pan. cream together the butter and sugar (make sure NOT to melt the butter). add eggs one at a time, beating after each one. Sift dry ingredients in a separate bowl then add to the wet mixture. fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips. Cook for ~1 hour (+/- 20 min depending on the oven, so be careful)
notes
Don't know what to do with old, brown bananas? Keep them in the freezer! They last forever and make the best banana bread. To thaw: Microwave immediately before using or leave out the morning before you will need them.
