Apple Cinnamon Pork Chops

This is a nice late summer dish when the weather starts to cool and the new crop of apples comes in. Serve with buttered brown rice and veggie.

ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork chops
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 Tablespoons brown sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 medium sized tart apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped pecans (optional)

If you'd like your chops browned, turn up the heat to about medium-high and the brown sugar will caramelize on the chops. Also, leaving the peel on the apple adds a nice color to the dish, but sometimes the peel can be tough, even after it's cooked.
