Chinese-Style B-B-Q Beef on a stick
ingredients
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds London Broil, sliced 1/4 to 1/8-inch thick (slice London Broil while partially frozen for easier slicing)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 T. EACH honey and red wine vinegar
- 2 T. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. ginger powder
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely minced
- 2 T. sugar
- 3 to 4 drops red food coloring

Mix all ingredients in a nonreactive bowl. Marinate overnight, but no longer than 48 hours.

Soak bamboo skewers for 1 hour in water to cover (helps prevent burning on the grill). Remove beef strips from marinade and discard marinade. Thread beef strips onto skewers, leaving as little of the skewer exposed as possible.

Over hot coals (or HIGH setting of a gas grill), grill beef sticks for 2 minutes. Turn each beef stick over and grill for 2 to 3 minutes more. Remove from grill.

Serve with the following condiments, if desired: Chinese hot mustard, duck sauce, or plum sauce.
