Mock Ravioli

ingredients

Part I
  • 2 Medium Onions, Chopped
  • 1 Clove Garlic, Chopped
  • 3 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 2 Lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 - 4 oz Can Mushrooms
  • 1 Can Tomato Paste
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Mixed Salt & Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Italian Herbs
Part II
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cups Canned Spinach, Chopped
  • 1 Lbs Seashell Macaroni

Part I

    Saute onions and garlic until golden brown.

  • 2

    Add meat and cook stirring until browned.

  • 3

    Add remaining ingredients and cover tightly.

  • 4

    Simmer gently for 2 hours

Part II

    Cook shells in boiling, salted water; strain and place in a large baking dish.

    In a bowl combine all other ingredients.

  • 3

    Put a layer of spinach mixture, followed by meat mixture; repeat until all is used up and meat is on top layer.

    Bake in a moderate oven for 40 minutes.

    Serves 14 to 16.
