Union Station Cookies
This is mom’s favorite cookie, and I think she’s right. This isn’t your typical chocolate chip cookie, it has some special ingredients. But they are unlike any other. You’ll want a glass of milk for these!
ingredients
- 1 c, Butter
- 1 c, Sugar
- 1 c, Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon, Vanilla
- 2 c, Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon, Salt
- 2 1/2 c. Oats, blended to a powder (measure 2 1/2 c. whole oats, then blend)
- 1 teaspoon, Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon, Baking Soda
- 12 oz, Chocolate Chips
- 4 oz, Hershey Bar, melted
- 1 1/2 c, Pecans, chopped
directions
- 1
Cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and continue to mix.
- 2
In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt, oats, baking powder and soda.
- 3
Add dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.
- 4
When all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated add in the chocolate chips, nuts and melted hershey bar.
- 5
Shape dough into golf ball size pieces and place on an un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart as they need room to spread.
- 6
Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
notes
This is a great recipe to make in advance and cook a little bit at a time. The dough will keep for a couple of days in the refrigerator.
