This is mom’s favorite cookie, and I think she’s right. This isn’t your typical chocolate chip cookie, it has some special ingredients. But they are unlike any other. You’ll want a glass of milk for these!

ingredients

  • 1 c, Butter
  • 1 c, Sugar
  • 1 c, Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon, Vanilla
  • 2 c, Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon, Salt
  • 2 1/2 c. Oats, blended to a powder (measure 2 1/2 c. whole oats, then blend)
  • 1 teaspoon, Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon, Baking Soda
  • 12 oz, Chocolate Chips
  • 4 oz, Hershey Bar, melted
  • 1 1/2 c, Pecans, chopped

directions

  • 1

Cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and continue to mix.

  • 2

In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt, oats, baking powder and soda.

  • 3

Add dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.

  • 4

When all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated add in the chocolate chips, nuts and melted hershey bar.

  • 5

Shape dough into golf ball size pieces and place on an un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart as they need room to spread.

  • 6

Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.

notes

This is a great recipe to make in advance and cook a little bit at a time. The dough will keep for a couple of days in the refrigerator.
