Buckeyes

Makes 5-6 dozen 1" balls

ingredients

  • 7 cups (2 lbs.) powdered sugar
  • 1 lb peanut butter, chunky or creamy
  • 1 cups butter, softened
  • 1/2 package milk chocolate chips (6 oz.)
  • 1/2 package semi-sweet chocolate chips (6 oz.)
  • 6 teas. shortening

    1. Mix powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter in a large bowl.

  • 2

    2. Roll mixture into balls. Place on wax paper and chill (or freeze overnight).

    3. Melt chocolate chips with shortening in top of a double broiler (can melt in microwave).

    4. Using a toothpick, dip balls in chocolate mixture. Leave a bit of the ball showing for the “Buckeye” effect.

    5. Cool on wax paper. Store in refrigerator.
