French Bread Pudding
ingredients
- 5 eggs + 2 egg yolks
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp grated orange zest
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Stale bakery bread
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup berries or raisins

Mix the first 9 ingredients together with a whisk. Slice the bread into 1 inch thick slices.

Butter the inside of a 9 X 11 baking pan. Arrange the bread like shingles. Add the fruit getting some in between the bread slices. Pour the milk mixture over the bread. Press down carefully on the bread so it soaks up all the milk. Let stand for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the bread in the oven for 55 to 60 minutes.

Serve with maple syrup and confectioners sugar
