ZIPPY GREEN SALAD
Phoebe Marks, of Via la Paz, made a loose-leaf hand-typed recipe book for a few friends. This is one of her famous salads. She aways planned to publish but think it didn’t happen. I served it often at holidays.
ingredients
- 2/3 cup olive oil or salad oil
- 1/3 cup wine vinegar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/8 tsp Tabasco
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire
- 1/8 tsp Accent
- lettuce, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes,chopped onions and peppers
- freshly ground black pepper (lots)
- lettuce, sliced cucumber, chopped onion, chopped green peppers, watercress, tomatoes (quartered)
- cooked crisp bacon, crumbled,
- hard cooked egg;, sieved.
directions
Combine all ingredients in first section and shake vigorously for several minutes. Toss as much as needed with lettuce and any of the other ingredients. Garnish with crumbled bacon and sieved egg.
notes
Can use dressing for any combination of ssalad ingredients.
