Spider Web Cupcakes
These are the perfect cupcakes for Halloween. Chocolate cupcakes are topped with ganache frosting and white chocolate spider webs are formed on top. These are very festive cupcakes, but also taste great!
ingredients
- Make chocolate cupcakes from any store bought cake mix.
- toothpicks used for decorating
- 6 ounces white chocolate chips
- Ganache:
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 10 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
directions

Ganache:
- 2
Place cream in a medium-large saucepan and bring to a boil
- 3
Remove from heat and immediately add chocolate chips. Cover and allow to sit for 5 mins. Gently stir mixture to be sure chocolate is fully melted (do not burn the chocolate at the bottom of the pan)
- 4
Put white chocolate chips in a small bowl and melt in the microwave. Only heat for 15 seconds at a time and mix each time to be sure chocolate does not burn. Put melted white chocolate in a sandwich size plastic baggie and cut the corner tip.
- 5
Make sure ganache is in a liquid state. Dip tops of cupcakes into the ganache frosting. Let sit for 10-15 seconds. Place the corner of the baggie over the center of the cupcake. Squeeze gently and make a spiral all the way to the outer edge of the cupcake (about 4 loops around the cupcake). Immediately, while the ganache and white chocolate are still soft, using a toothpick, draw lines from the center of the spiral toward the edge of the cupcake in a straight line. Do about 6 lines around the cupcake. You’ll see... a web appears!
