Cornbread Rice Dressing
This is a combination of rice dressing and cornbread dressing. It was a recipe from Maw (the woman who raised me). Now every holiday it is my responsibilty to cook it at all the family functions.
ingredients
- 2 c. cooked rice
- 5 c. cornbread crumbs
- 1 Savoie Dressing Mix
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 c. onion, chopped finely
- 1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped finely
- 1 c. celery, chopped finely
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 6 eggs, beaten well
- 3 cans of chicken broth
directions
Cook pork with onions, bell pepper, celery and garlic until onions are tender; drain off grease. Mix everything together. Add enough broth to make mix very soft. Bake in large bread or glass pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
