Homestyle Stew With Cheese and Onion Biscuits
Hearty Beef Stew with a full serving of vegetables per bowl, accompanied by a healthy whole wheat cheese and onion biscuit.
ingredients
- Stew:
- 2-3 cups potatoes
- 2-3 cups carrots
- 2-3 small onions
- 2-3 cups celery
- 1 can tomato juice
- 1.5 cups of water
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1Kg. cubed beef
- 2 Tbsp. margarine / butter
- 2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
- 2 Beef cubes
- Biscuits:
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 3 ml Salt
- 1.5 cups milk
- 30 ml Baking Powder
- 1/2 cup butter/margarine
- 1 cup grated Cheddar
- 1/2 cup chopped Green Onions

Stew:

Cut and wash all veggies. quickly sear beef in frying pan with margarine. add water beef cubes and tomato juice. add veggies salt and pepper bring to boil stir constantly simmer 2-3 hours.

Biscuits:

Preheat oven to 425 F

Add Flour Baking Powder Salt

Cut in Margarine until resembles coarse crumbs

make well add milk

stir with fork till dough cleans side of bowl

add cheese and onion

mix well and drop on cookie sheet
