A pretty layered jello mold that is worth the time to make.

ingredients

JELLO
  • 1 (3 oz) lime jello
  • 1 (3 oz) orange jello
  • 1 (3 oz) lemon jello
  • 1 (3 oz) cherry jello
LAYER
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water

directions

  • 1

Bring to boil the milk and the sugar. While this is cooking soften 2 envelopes of the unflavored gelatin in the cold water. Once the milk/sugar mixture is to the boiling stage add the softened gelatin.

  • 2

Cool this mixture & fold in the sour cream using a hand mixer.

  • 3

Dissolve the lime jello with 1 1/2 cups of boiling water. Place in 13x9x2 pan & place in refrigerator to set (approximately 15 minutes)

  • 4

When set put 1 1/2 cups of the white mixture over the set lime jello. Place back in refrigerator to cool.

  • 5

Continue as above dissolving the orange then the lemon & finally the cherry jello. Waiting approximately 15 - 20 minutes for each layer to set.

  • 6

NOTE: Do not dissolve all the jello at once. Dissolve in stages as above as the jello starts to set too soon.

notes

You may also use any other flavors of jello you wish. The colors layer best as described. This is one of Jason's favorite jello recipes. We had it often for birthdays & holidays or when we had lots of people over.
