Quick Manly Ham & Swiss Quiche
It’s manly ’cause I say so. What’s with all these quiche recipes Mary?
ingredients
- 1 (9-inch) refrigerated pie crust
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
- pinch of ground nutmeg
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 1 cup grated Swiss (about 4 oz)
- 3/4 cup cooked ham, diced into 1/2 inch cubes

Preheat oven to 375° and place the crust in a pie pan (prebaking the crust may be recommended by instructions)

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over low heat for 1 minute. Add the onion and saute for about 15 minutes or until slightly browned. Season with salt and nutmeg then set aside to cool.

Beat eggs and half and half in a mixing bowl.

Spoon the onions evenly over the crust. Sprinkle in the cheese and diced ham. Pour the in the egg mixture.

Bake for one hour, or until just set. Allow to cool on a rack for 10 minutes before serving.
