Oven Fried Chicken
Moist crispy flavorful chicken
ingredients
- 8 Chicken pieces of choice
- 1 -2 quarts of buttermilk
- 2-3 cups of flour
- 2 tablespoons Everglades Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon red pepper
- 4 cloves of garlic chopped
- additional Everglades Seasoning
- Oil - Crisco or Olive Oil

1-Wash the chicken and place in a container, cover with buttermilk, make sure each piece is covered, place lid on container and place in refrigerator for 2-3 hours or overnight.

2- in a breading box or a shallow pan mix the flour, 2 tablespoons Everglades seasoning, red pepper and garlic.

3- 1-2 inches of oil in a skillet on medium heat

4-Lightly Sprinkle both sides of each piece of chicken with Everglades

5- When the oil is ready add the chicken one piece at a time-there is probably room for 3-4 pieces.

6-When the pieces are a deep golden brown turn over carefully using tongs

7-When both sides are a deep golden brown remove the chicken to a rack.

8-When all of the chicken is brown and drained, move the chicken to a baking sheet.

9-cover lightly with aluminum foil

10-Bake Chicken for 1 hour at 350 degrees

11- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes
notes
For a spicier chicken, add hot sauce to the buttermilk.
