Chicken nuggets with Sweet Sauce

ingredients

Batter:
  • 2 lbs chicken cutlets
  • 1 c flour
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 eggs
  • oil to fry
Sauce:
  • 1/2 c ketchup
  • 1/4 c vinegar
  • 3 T lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 3 T cornstarch
  • 3/4 c cold water
  • 1 (8 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained- I skip
  • 1/2 jar maraschino cherries- I skip

directions

Cut chicken into small pieces or if desired, leave whole. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, water and eggs. Dip chicken pieces into batter and fry in oil until golden brown. Dissolve cornstarch in 3/4 c water. In a saucepan over low heat, mix ketchup, vinegar, lemon, sugars cornstarch with water and pineapple. Cook until thick. Pour sauce over chicken (I serve sauce seperately) and top with maraschino cherries
