Ramen Noodle Slaw
Adding dry Ramen noodles to this slaw recipe makes this side dish delish!
ingredients
- DRESSING:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 6 T. rice vinegar (MUST BE RICE) any brand
- 1 t. salt
- 1 T. soy sauce
- SLAW MIXTURE:
- 3 packages Ramen Noodles uncooked (no seasoning packet, reserve for different recipe later)
- 1/2 package coleslaw mix
- 1/2 package broccoli slaw mix
- 1/2 cup peanuts or slice almonds
- 1/2 sunflower seeds
- 6 green onions chopped including greens

In a separate bowl mix sugar, oil, vinegar and salt. Refrigerate.

Coarsely chop the dry Ramen noodles. Set aside in an airtight container with the nuts.

Mix the coleslaw mix, broccoli mix and green onions.

Immediately before serving stir dressing mixture and then combine all ingredients.
Note:

Mix immediately before serving so that the noodles do not soften and become mushy.

Additional Note: You can substitute other types of nuts such as walnuts, pumpkin seeds, or pine nuts just to name a few. You can be creative with this and add raisins or dried cranberries also.
