Pan Gravy
The best gravy recipe I’ve come up with, and I rely upon it each holiday.
ingredients
- drippings
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- chicken broth
- salt & pepper to season
directions
Pour pan drippings into large measuring cup. The fat rises to the top. Skim it off into a separate container. Pour 1/2 c. into a medium saucepan. Discard remaining fat.
Whisk flour into the fat in the saucepan. Add chicken broth or water to the pan drippings in the measuring cup to equal 4 cups. Add to flour mixture in the saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly, which takes about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
notes
Gravy is most important to Cliff with his turkey! Took me a long time to find a recipe I could understand, but this one works well and tastes great. Aunt Nancy gave me lots of tips!
