Cheese Manicotti
ingredients
- 1 box manicotti shells
- 1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage (casing removed)
- 2 - 15 ounce cans Hunts Italian tomato sauce
- 2 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 C. low-fat ricotta cheese
- 1/4 C. grated parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 T. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
directions
In large bowl, cover manicotti shells in boiling water. Let stand 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. In skillet brown sausage crumbling as it cooks; drain. Stir in tomato sauce. In bowl mix remaining ingredients. Stuff shells with cheese mixture. Pour 1/2 of meat sauce in 9 x 13 pan. Place manicotti on sauce. Put any remaining cheese mixture on top. Pour remaining sauce over all. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until shells are tender.
