MARZIPAN TORTE
ingredients
CRUST- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 stick softened butter
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 yellow only
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam (seedless)
- 2 sticks softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups ground almond
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 4 whole eggs, & white
- 1/2 cup sifted powder sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Blend flour, baking powder and sugar. Mix in softened butter and egg until the flour mixture is moistened. (Hand mixing work best.) Press dough evenly on bottom of pan. Spread half of jam evenly over dough.

Cream butter and sugar well. Mix in almonds and almond extract and eggs. Alternate with eggs and almonds, beating well after each addition. Spoon filling into cake pan.

Bake about 60 minutes at 360 degrees. Cool torte in pan. Once cool, spread remaining jam on top of torte. Drizzle frosting over jam.

Use Springform. 10” works best.
