- 1/4 cup Crisco
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 lbs. Lean hamburger 1 medium finely diced onion
Heat milk (do not boil). Melt in Crisco. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely – about 45 minutes.
Chop the onions finely and mix into meat.
After milk/Crisco is cool – mix into flour and salt. Knead. Separate the dough into 8 small balls. Roll out the dough into a round, thin piece.
Sprinkle flour on board – be careful not to add too much. Roll out dough into thin rectangle. Add tablespoon of meat mixture. Fold the dough over the meat and seal edges.
Drop meat pouch into hot oil – 350 degrees. Fry until brown. Serve hot.
