ingredients

Sandwich
  • 2 t butter, softened
  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 T Russian Dressing
  • 1 oz. thinly sliced Swiss cheese
  • 4 thin slices cooked turkey
  • 3 T Tangy Cabbage Slaw
  • 2 dill pickles
Russian Dressing
  • 1/2 c mayonnaise
  • 2 T ketchup
  • 2 T pickle relish
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 1 t Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 t coarse salt
  • 1/4 t ground pepper
  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
Tangy Cabbage Slaw
  • 1/4 c white-wine vinegar
  • 3 T safflower oil
  • 1/4 t celery seeds
  • 1 t grainy m ustard
  • 1 t coarse salt
  • 1/2 small head green cabbage,finely shredded
  • 1 medium carrot
  • Whisk vinegar, oil, celery seeds, mustard & salt in medium bowl. Ad cabbage & carrot, and stir to combine. Serve at room temperature.

    Heat a grill pan over medium heat. spread butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. flip bread over and spread Russian dressing on the other sides. Place hald of the cheese on top of dressing on 1 slice. Top with turkey, cabbage slaw, and pickles. Top with remaining cheese, then the second slice of bread, buttered side up.

    Place on grill pan, and cook, pressing down occasionally with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese has melted, 3-4 mins per side. (Cover with lid to encourage cheese to melt.) Cut sandwich in half and serve immediately.
