Ivy's Spaghetti Sauce
Ivy’s fabulous sauce ready for your pasta. Hopefully, I get this right!
ingredients
- 2-2 1/2 Lbs of Ground Beef
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
- 1 Tbs Oregano
- 2-3 Cans Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 Can Water
- 3-4 Cans Tomato Sauce
- 1 Can Tomato Paste
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Sugar
- 1 Tbs Oregano
- 2 Bay leaves
- ~8 oz Sliced Mushrooms
- 1/2 Medium Onion, Diced
- 1/2 Green Pepper, Diced
- 3-4 Cloves Garlic, Diced
- 1/2 C Red Wine
directions
Fry Ground Beef with salt, pepper, garlic salt and oregano. Drain and set aside.
In a large pot add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste, salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano. To this, add the drained ground beef, 2 bay leaves and red wine. Put this on a low simmer.

In a frying pan, add the mushrooms, onion and green pepper. Cook until tender and then add the garlic.

Add all of this to the large pot and simmer until ready to use or cool and freeze portions.
