Stout Batter Bread
A delicious hearty bread that is great for soups
ingredients
- 4 tbs. unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbs. baking powder
- 3 tbs. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz) bottle beer @ room temperature

Preheat oven to 375*F
- 2
Brush a 9x5x3" loaf pan with some of the butter.

In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add beer and 2 tbs of the butter, stirring until combined (does not have to be smooth).

Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and drizzle with remaining 2 tbs. of butter.

Bake until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. 30-45min.

Transfer to wire rack and cool slightly. Invert onto the rack to cool until warm.
notes
The darker the beer, the heavier the bread. Beer imparts a lot of flavor, so choose wisely ;)
