HOLIDAY CHEESE BALL
Mary has made this one a Christmas tradition over the years. It also makes a great gift. Just ask Barbara’s Dad!!
ingredients
- 2 8 oz. packages of Cream Cheese (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup of crumbled blue cheese
- 3 tblsp. of finely chopped pimento
- 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder
- 1/2 of a green pepper (diced very small)
- 1 1/2 tsp. of Worcestershire sauce
- Dried parsley flakes
directions
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. It’s easiest to use your hands to blend everything really well. (Taste it at this point and add more of either blue cheese, garlic powder or worcestershire. It all depends on your taste.) Shape it into a ball and set it on a pretty plate. Wash & dry your hands and a little at a time, put the parsley flakes in your hand and pat it on the cream cheese ball. When you’ve covered the ball just brush away the excess parsley flakes that have fallen on the plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving so it can firm back up and also absorb the flavors. Serve with Triscuits and Sociable crackers.
