Sambar Bhath
May not be the original Bisi Bele Bhath recipe.
ingredients
- rice -1 cup [ wash and keep aside ] 1/3 cup tur daal [cook it in adv ] Imli paste [ available in Indian store/malls }
- 1tbsp Oil for seasoning
- rai [seasoning]
- salt to taste
- haldi powder
- Veggies ---tomato
- onions
- beans
- capsicum
- carrots
- potatoes
- peas
- [ If you don’t have or like any of these you can skip it [ veggies cut into cubes or whichever shape you get ]
- Kotmir
- kadipatha
- For the masala:
- Roast and powder -5 red chillies coriander seeds 3 tbsp
- split gram dal [chana dal] 1 1/2 tbsp] finger length cinnamon stick

Heat oil in a vessel [ can be the vessel in which you want to make the sambar bhath ]

Add rai – let it split.

Add kadipatha and the veggies-saute for a while .

Add the rice [ prewashed ] and water enough to cook plus 1 cup extra. when it is almost cooked, add the

Cooked dal , imli paste, haldi powder and salt and let it boil for 2-3 mins [ there should be enough water to boil as otherwise it will become too thick]

Add the masala powder and mix well and let it be on stove for 1-2 mins.

Add ghee from top. Add kotmir and serve hot with wafers/varaval/vadam/pappadam or appalam.
