Valentine Cherry BarsMichelle Pickett
A Pickett favorite that was only made for Valentine’s Day.

- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- glaze (powder sugar with cream or milk)
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs (one at a time), beating well. Mix dry ingredients, add gradually to creamed mixture and mix well. Save one cup of batter.
Spread remaining batter in well greased and floured 11x15 pan. Add one cherry pie filling, spread over batter. Top with reserved cup of batter.
Bake at 350 for 34-40 minutes. Glaze while hot.
Jan typically doubles the recipe and uses 3 cherry pie fillings instead of 2.
