Chocolate Chip Cookie House
ingredients
Cookie House Ingredients- 3 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour (sift before measuring)
- 1 1/2 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine at room temperature
- 2/3 cup shortening at room temperature
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- fluffy frosting
- pastry tube and tips for decorating
- candies for decorating
- stiff board or tray covered with aluminum foil for assembly
- 6 egg whites at room temperature
- 1/2 t cream of tartar
- 1 t vanilla
- 8 cups icing sugar

Sift dry ingredients and set aside.

Cream butter, shortening, and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift in dry ingredients 1/3 at a time. Add chocolate chips. Mix well.

Spread into two well greased jelly roll pans (10“x15”x1"deep) approximatly 3 cups batter per pan.

Bake at 375°F 20-30 minutes until browned. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Cut house sections. Cut windows as desired or outline with icing later. When completely cool remove from pan with wide spatula. Place on wire racks.

Frosting: Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until white and doubled in volume. Drizzle in vanilla. Sift in icing sugar 1/2 cup at a time. Beat thoroughly after each addition. Continue beating for about 5 minutes until a stiff icing is formed. Keep icing bowl covered with damp cloth and use immediately.

Assemble on foil covered board or cookie slab using fluffy frosting.

Decorating ideas: outline door, windows, shingles with icing. Roof ideas: Mini wheats, fruit gellies, smarties or m and ms. Make trees with green colored Rice Krispie treats or ice cream cones. Use scrap cookie pieces for chimney, dog house. Be creative!
