Margherita pizza
Classic and very simple pizza.
ingredients
- 1 can of San Marzano tomatoes, drained
- Buffalo mozzarella
- Fresh Basil
- Olive Oil
directions
Pass the tomatoes through a food mill set over a medium bowl or pulse them in a food processor until coarsely chopped. Spread a thin layer of the sauce over the pizza dough (see recipe). Add slices of mozzarella and dot it with fresh basil leaves. Drizzle the olive oil over the pizza and place it in the oven to cook for 7-12 minutes. Slice and enjoy.
notes
I usually keep the tomato sauce plain, however you can add in a pinch of oregano, salt and pepper if you prefer.
