Mom's Favorite German Chocolate Cookies
A yummy chewy chocolaty gem of a cookie! Best to eat 10 minutes out of the oven!
ingredients
- 2 packages (4 oz) German chocolate
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsifted flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
directions
- 1
Melt chocolate and butter in bowl over hot water. Remove from heat and cool. Beat eggs until foamy. Add sugar 2 tablespoons at a time. Blend in melted chocolate, flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and pecans.
- 2
Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheets or parchment. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
- 3
Cookies will rise and drop before being finished. They spread, so don’t put too close together.
- 4
The batter is close to brownie batter. If you feel it is too thin add flour a tablespoon at a time.
notes
Best to make and eat these cookies within a few days. They tend to loose their chewy wonderfulness after that.
