Rhubard custard dessert in 9x13 pan

ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine - melted
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 egg yolks - beaten (save whites)
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Cup Carnation milk
  • Meringue: egg whites, 1/2 Tbsp sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Cups rhubarb

directions

  • 1

    mix first 3 ingredients and press into 9x13 pan - bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

    Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over first layer, bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Beat the 6 egg whites - add 1/2 Tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla as meringue, pour over rhubard dessert and brown in oven.
