Pizza Dough

Makes 2-3 pizzas or 6-8 calzones

ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup warm water (85°-115°)
  • 2 tablespoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic and pepper

    Pour warm water into large bowl. Mix in the honey and salt until well blended. Add the yeast and mix. Let sit for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of flour and olive oil and mix until well blended. Add the remaining flour and any additions and mix well.

    The dough should turn into a ball. If it is too dry, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time. If it is too wet, add flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.

    Place the dough on floured board and knead for 1 minute. Place the dough in greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 45 minutes or until doubled. Punch down and let rise for another hour to hour and a half.

    Divide into 2-3 pieces for pizza rounds or 6-8 pieces for calzones.

    Roll out and top/fill with desired toppings/fillings.

    Bake on preheated pizza stone at 500°

  • 7

    Bake Pizza for 10-12 minutes & calzones for 15-20 minutes.
