Denny's Black & White Chicken Chili

ingredients

  • 1 Qt. Water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 yellow pepper, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 TBSP cumin
  • 1 TBSP chili powder
  • 1 can (15.5oz) of each, black beans and garbanzo beans (also called "chick
  • peas") RINSED & DRAINED
  • 1 Qt. Half & Half
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 lbs. Chicken breast (tenders work best)
  • 5 tsp. Cornstarch
  • 3 TBSP oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. Oregano

    1. In stock pot, cook onion, pepper & garlic in 1/2 inch of the water, until tender.

    2. In bowl, mix oregano & flour. Flour chicken tenders and sauté in lemon

  • 3

    juice & oil in frying pan. Cool, cut into bite-sized pieces and add to stock pot.

    3. Put all remaining ingredients in together with onion/garlic/pepper/water

  • 5

    and cook for about 1 hr. to thicken up.
