Chicken in White Wine a la Grandma Lilla
ingredients
- 3 lbs. chicken (include leg, thigh, & breast meat)
- 1 large onion sliced
- 3 cloves garlic quartered
- mushrooms sliced
- salt, pepper,
- herbs to taste
- olive oil
- white wine
directions
Breast will need to be sliced into portions. Cook onions in olive oil in a skillet on top of stove until transparent. Add garlic, chicken, salt & pepper and fry, turning as chicken browns so that it is light brown all around. May need to add some water if dries. Once chicken is brown on all sides add at least a cup of white wine and let simmer uncovered. After 5 minutes, taste and add more wine, oil, water, salt or pepper as needed for taste and a gravy consistency.
