Scotish Scones
These are great served warm with jam, or even just with butter!
ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 clups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cream fo tartar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Optional 1/2 cup raisins

Preheat the oven at 450`F.

Mix together the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl.

Combine the butter, egg, and milk in another bowl; add to the dry ingredients and mix until moistened.

If desired, mix in raisins.

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Roll out in a 3/4" thick circle.

Cut the dough into 12 pieces and transfer to a greased cookie sheet.

Bake in oven for about 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
notes
Scones can be prepared ahead. Place the dough in a ball in the fridge overnight.
