Grandma Betty's Peanut Blossom Cookies

Trev always said these were his favorite as a little guy.
ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 t.baking soda
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 T. milk
- 1 pkg. chocolate kisses
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening (Grandma Betty!)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 t. vanilla
directions
Preheat oven to 375. Grease baking sheets. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Cream shortening, peanut butter, 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. brown sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in milk, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in flour mixture. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls and roll in remaining sugar (?). Place 2" apart. Bake 8 min. Top each cookie w/ kiss and bake 2 min. more.
notes
I don't seen that there is any remaining sugar; this is Mom's recipe and she improvised ALWAYS! Sorry.
